Global Research, Canada's Center for Research, announced in a report on the humanitarian situation in Yemen that Saudi-led coalition committed war crimes in the war-torn country.
According to the Yemeni Al Masirah TV channel, Global Research regarded the invasion of Yemen as a flagrant violation of international law. It accused the Saudi-led coalition of being responsible for the killing and crimes in Yemen.
According to the research center, Saudi military operations against Yemen are inconsistent with international law.
Global Research said that the Yemeni people are opposed to Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi. Thousands of Yemenis demonstrated on March 8, 2011 against Hadi. At least 50 people were killed and 240 others were injured in the protests.
The center rejected claims by Saudi Arabia and its allies that the regime of Mansour Hadi, the resigned and fugitive president, was the legitimate government of Yemen. “Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi has resigned along with his government after the popular uprising. The claims of these countries are not true,” the center added.
While the research center reports the war crimes in Yemen committed by Saudi Arabia and its allies, many human rights organizations have been demanding a halt to the war in Yemen.
In this regard, the United Nations called for immediate aid to the people of Yemen, saying that more than seven million Yemenis are facing the threat of starvation.
The Saudi aggression on Yemen has killed more than 12,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands of others, displaced millions of them and destroyed its infrastructure.
Saudi Arabia along with some other counties launched a military campaign against Yemen on 26 March 2015 and imposed a land, sea and air blockade, in order to restore Yemen’s resigned President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
