The civilian death toll from a US-backed Saudi military campaign against Sana’a province have reached 2,184, mostly women and children, the director of the health office of Sana’a province, Khaled al-Muntasir, said in a statement.

Al Muntasir added that the number has risen since the beginning of the Saudi aggression until November of this year.

Meanwhile, the injured have reached 1,703 people until November of this year.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 11,400 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
