Saudi jets pounded a number of Yemeni provinces in a fresh round of airstrikes, leaving several people dead and a number of others injured.
Yemeni security officials also reported that in the northwestern provinces of Saada and Hajja, the Saudi-led coalition once again resorted to using the internationally banned cluster munitions.
A number of districts in the two provinces came under attack but there have been no reports on casualties as of yet.
This is not the first time that the use of cluster bombs is being reported in Yemen. The Saudis are known to have dropped cluster munitions across the country, killing scores of innocent civilians. International Rights groups have confirmed the use of the banned weapon by Riyadh, which is tantamount to war crimes.
Meanwhile in Sanaa province, three people were reported killed in separate overnight raids. Another nine people were injured in the attack that targeted the Manakhah district.
The airstrikes also caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure while crippling the main road connecting Sanaa to the Red Sea port city of Hodayda.
Saudi Arabia launched its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes, which have so far resulted in over 10,000 deaths, were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
