Iran Calls For A Political Solution To War In Yemen

Iran’s top diplomat has called for a political solution to the conflict in Yemen.
Speaking on Tuesday, the second day of his visit to the Lebanese capital Beirut, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, warned that the continuation of violence can only result in more bloodshed.
Urging regional powers to assist the Yemenis in reaching an immediate cease-fire, Zarif also explained that there was no military solution to the bloody conflict and that neither side could emerge as a winner.
Tehran, often accused by the mainstream media of militarily backing the Houthis Ansarullah movement has repeatedly dismissed the unfounded allegations. Since the start of the Saudi-led military campaign in Yemen, the Iranian government has continually called for a peaceful resolution, presenting several peace initiatives as well as working to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe in the country.
