The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Saudi Arabia’s killing of Yemenis is "the worst type of terrorism".
"Massacres at the hands of some governments, such as those committed by Saudi Arabia against the Yemenis, are the worst type of terrorism," the Leader said in a meeting with visiting Finnish President Sauli Niinistö in Tehran on Wednesday.
Ayatollah Khamenei also described terrorism as one of the "painful" sufferings gripping the human society, and called for a sincere fight against the scourge.
Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
