The Saudi-led coalition fighter jets launched a fresh wave of airstrikes against several areas across Yemen.

At least nine air raids targeted Serwah district of Marib province early on Tuesday.

According to a local official, four strikes hit Rahab valley, al-Matar, Serwah public market and al- Makhdarh areas. Another five air raids targeted the same district later in the day.

Elsewhere, the US-Saudi air force waged five strikes early on Tuesday on the capital Sana’a, targeting al-Hafa area of al-Sabain district.

The strikes caused great destruction to houses as well private and public properties.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
