The Saudi-led coalition has disputed reports by rights groups that it is imposing a blockade on Yemen, saying it facilitates the passage of humanitarian aid without delay and in "record time."
In a Friday statement, the coalition said that the health situation in Yemen is allegedly at the top of its priorities. "The coalition forces give permits to all the relief and humanitarian ships, immediately, periodically, in record time, and without inspection, and to all the Yemeni ports."
The coalition has been backing the government of resigned president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi in its war against the Houthi Ansarullah revolutionaries and their allies.
International rights groups say Saudi is imposing a blockade, causing severe shortages of fuel and medical supplies in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
