Yemen’s Ansarullah Unveils New Ballistic Missile to Counter Saudi Aggression

Yemen’s Ansarullah forces and their allies unveiled a new powerful ballistic missile designed to deter the Saudi-led forces in their aggression against the poorest Arab country, a source said on Monday.

Al-Masdar News quoted an Ansarullah source as saying that the ballistic missile, named Quake-3 or Zilzal 3, has a radius of 650 mm and a length of 6 meters, with its payload exceeding half a ton.

The source added the missile is comprised of 10,000 parts and has a range of 65 km.

The weapon potentially gives the Yemeni Republican Guard and Yemeni popular mobilization forces the full capability to strike all targets in the major conflict zones in the Yemeni war.

With the Yemeni armed forces being on the offensive in all fronts in Yemen, this new missile will provide them with the much-needed boost to perhaps be able to end the deadlock in the frontline to advance deep into enemy territory.

Earlier in the day, Yemeni forces reported they have shot down a Saudi spy drone flying over the province of Sana’a.
A security source said the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was brought down after it was intercepted over the Shaba’a Sharih in Ninth region of Sana’a Province.

Saudi Arabia began its military aggression against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes are supposedly meant to undermine the Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Nearly 10,000 people have been killed and thousands more have been injured since the strikes began. The Saudi war has also taken a heavy toll on impoverished Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemenis have, meanwhile, been carrying out retaliatory attacks on the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
