Yemen’s Ansarullah forces and their allies repelled a Saudi-led and pro-Hadi forces’ new offensive to capture the Bab Al-Mandab Strait and its nearby lands in Ta’iz province, a military source said on Thursday.
"The offensive by the Saudi-funded forces was cut short on Thursday after the Ansarullah forces beat back their main assault near the Al-Lahij province border," the source said.
As a result of this failed assault on Thursday, the Saudi-led Coalition left two tanks while retreating from the coastal waters in Southwest Yemen, and Ansarullah fighters captured them.
During last couple of days, the Ansarullah forces, backed by the Yemeni Republican Guard, have kept their military advances in the Ta’iz province, targeting several sites under the control of the Saudi-backed forces.
The recent battle between warring sides at the Haifan District ended in Ansarullah forces overpowering the enemy units, and the capture of their weapons and supplies.
