The Yemeni army backed by the popular committees launched a retaliatory attack in Taiz province killing and wounding a number of Saudi-led coalition troops as well as Al-Qaeda terrorists.

According to Yemen’s Arabic-language al-Masirah news website, the terrorists and invaders were killed in an operation to clear Msaiid Mountain in Haifan.

A security sorce stated that the army and popular committees were able to secure the area.

On Wednesday, the allied forces pounded the invaders and hirelings in the south of Dhubab city and al-Mashraf Mount in al-Wazeyah district.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 8,300 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
