The army and popular committees foiled attempts by Blackwater hirelings to advance towards Shuraija and Karish areas in Taiz, killing 11 of them and injuring others, a military source said on Thursday.
A Saudi-led coalition armored vehicle and other military machineries were also destroyed.
This as Saudi-led coalition battleships intensively bombed a number of areas in Makha district while warplanes launched air raids on Shuraija area and Al-Jadeed area near Thubab district in Taiz province.
Yemen has been under military attacks by Saudi Arabia since late March. The Saudi strikes were launched with the supposed aim of undermining Ansarullah and bringing fugitive former president Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi back to power.
More than 7,500 people have been killed and over 14,000 others injured since the Saudi strikes began.
