Spokesman of the Yemeni Health Ministry of Sanaa, Youssef Al-Hadri, said that the ministry has been working to prevent the pandemic from spreading in these areas and managed to limit its spread for more than three months until it appeared in the capital in early May.
Al-Hadhri told Unews Press Agency that they have moved to the stage of controlling and are raising awareness, noting that hospitals were opened and rehabilitated.
He further underlined that they have response teams around the clock as well as doctors and health personnel working day and night in hospitals.
He stressed that the ministry is present in most of the Yemeni Governorates and is thoroughly informed about the health situation there, adding that the ministry is also working to evaluate governmental and private hospitals and putting plans to deal with this epidemic.
The minister further affirmed that one of the most important difficulties facing them is the international negligence that he described as extremely huge, pointing out that the United Nations had promised them more than once that it would support them in case the Coronavirus is reported in Yemen.
