Russia has called for bringing an end to Saudi-led airstrikes and fighting in Yemen as well as resorting to dialogue.
In a press conference on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, "We call for ending all kinds of hostilities in the country which will only lead to increasing the sufferings of civilians".
The spokesperson affirmed the importance of searching for solutions and consensus with the participation of all Yemeni political powers with United Nations [UN] mediation.
"Russia calls for resuming the search for solutions and consensus around the negotiation table with the participation of all the political actors in the country with the mediation of the United Nations Secretary-General Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed who we definitely support his efforts", she added.
She further pointed out that the immense humanitarian crisis in Yemen resulting due to the crisis in the country cannot be treated but through after settling the dispute.
A Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States has been carrying out a military aggression on Yemen by launching airstrikes against the country since March 26. The airstrikes have not been authorized by the United Nations [UN].
