UK Citizen Petition Pressures Cameron to Ceasefire in Yemen

British weapons are very likely being used to kill innocent civilians in the war in Yemen, including over 600 children. UK citizens across Britain composed a petition that would pressure British Prime Minister David Cameron as a chance to stop the aggression.
The petition voiced the cries of citizens who were shocked that the UK government is allowing this to happen.
Saudi Arabia is the UK’s largest weapons buyer. They spend millions, sometimes billions of pounds each year on war planes, explosives and guns.
Nonetheless, the Saudi-led attacks in Yemen had been indiscriminate that they bombed a water bottling plant that killed 19 civilians.
What is worse: the US-backed Saudi-led aggression had led to a major humanitarian crisis -- Yemen is on the brink of famine.
Though, the UK government doesn’t want to be seen as complicit in this war, UK citizens took advantage of the situation and published a petition.
They implied that if they raised a massive outcry, UK citizens could pressure David Cameron to use the UK’s leverage on Saudi Arabia to call for a permanent ceasefire, and host talks between all Yemeni factions.
According to the petition, immense pressure on Cameron is the best chance to stop the bloodshed, save millions of lives and for the UK government to right their wrongs in this devastating war.
Consequently, the petition urged British citizens all around the UK to take a firm stance in support of Yemen by signing the petition that would pressure the UK government via its prime minister in stopping the violence and ensuring aid is delivered; in addition to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
