Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reiterated on Tuesday the country’s determination to cooperate with other countries at all levels to resolve crises in the Middle East, particularly in Yemen and Syria.

Zarif said in a press conference in Tunisia’s capital of Tunis on Tuesday that, "We are prepared to cooperate [with other countries] at all levels and within international frameworks to resolve the problems of regional countries, Yemen and Syria in particular".

He further said that Iran believes that a military solution cannot solve the problems of these countries and that any foreign intervention is dangerous.

"Military measures should stop to deliver humanitarian aid and to reach a political solution in these countries," he noted.

He added that the domestic parties in Yemen and Syria should hold dialogues to reach a national consensus.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies back by the United States began to launch deadly airstrikes on Yemen in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former Yemeni President, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Saudi Arabia.

The airstrikes have not been authorized by the United Nations [UN].

The ’civilian’ death toll in Yemen has risen to at least 1,916, with another 4,186 civilians wounded since the escalation of the conflict in March, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights [OHCHR] reported recently last month.

Syria has also been gripped by a conflict since March 2011 with Takfiri extremists from various groups, including "Daesh" ["ISIL"] currently controlling parts of it.

The US and its regional allies have been supporting the militants operating inside Syria for over four years.
