Twelve citizens were martyred on Sunday and five others wounded as Saudi air raids attacked Al-Khamis market in Yemen’s Al-Jawf governorate.
A local source in Al-Jawf said that the Saudi aggression committed a massacre against a family of 17 persons, mostly women and children.
He noted that the Saudi aggression hit a house of one of the citizens, killing 12 persons and injuring five others.
Saudi Arabia’s deadly air aggression against Yemen has continued unabated for more than four months.
A Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States has been carrying out airstrikes against Yemen since March 26. The airstrikes have not been authorized by the UN.
The aggression began in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Saudi Arabia.
The ’civilian’ death toll in Yemen has risen to at least 1,916, with another 4,186 civilians wounded since the escalation of the conflict in March, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights [OHCHR] reported recently last week.
