WHO said in a statement issued on Thursday that, "More than 15 million Yemenis are in need for health services and necessary assistance, especially in the cities of Aden, Abyan, Taiz and Sa’ada".
Spokesperson of the Organization, Tarik Jasarevic, affirmed that the health system in Yemen has started to stop working, mainly as health facilities began to close its doors due to the lack of funding.
In a previous statement, the WHO warned also that 6 million Yemenis, amongst 13 million people who lack basic food supplies, encounter poverty.
WHO renewed its demand for an immediate and unconditional humanitarian pause to have assistance delivered.
Since March, a Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States has been carrying out airstrikes against Yemen. The airstrikes have not been authorized by the United Nations [UN].
