The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement Sayyed Abdel Malik Al Houthi strongly condemned the terrible crimes against Myanmar’s Muslim minority.
He blasted the Saudi regime and its allies in the Persian Gulf, who claim to the protectors of Muslims worldwide, for doing nothing to assist the 90,000 Rohingya fleeing Myanmar in recent days – uprooted by reported rapes, murders and other atrocities.
Sayyed Al Houthi called for prompt action to halt the genocide being committed in Myanmar and a show of solidarity with the Rohingya.
The majority of Myanmar’s 1.1 million Rohingya live in the country’s western Rakhine region. They face widespread discrimination by Myanmar’s Buddhist majority.
The United Nations warned that the ongoing campaign against the Rohingya may amount to ethnic cleansing. The government in Myanmar has dismissed the allegations blaming the violence on a local rebel movement.
