The Yemeni army and Popular Committees managed to target and hit a warship of the Saudi-led coalition in waters off the port city of Mocha in the southwestern province of Taiz.
The Yemeni Navy announced that its forces hit the Saudi-led coalition’s warship near Mocha on Sunday, the Arabic-language Al Mayadeen television network reported.
A Yemeni military source said that the warship was hit by an advanced weapon with pinpoint accuracy.
He emphasized that the vessel was taking hostile acts against Yemen in the territorial waters of the Arabian Peninsula country.
In another development, the Yemeni forces mounted attacks against the positions of the mercenaries of the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, in the al-Jawf Province in northwestern Yemen, killing a number of them.
The attacks against the Saudi forces came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the coalition led by the Riyadh regime.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Hadi.
Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
