Yemen’s military media displayed a video showing the moment a Saudi F-16 fighter jet being targeted over Sana’a province.

A military source disclosed that the aircraft was hit with a surface-to-air missile as it was hovering over the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a on Thursday.

The source added that the exact location of the F-16 is still unknown.

Army spokesman assistance said that the air defense unit is working gradually to prevent the aggression’s warplanes from flying over Yemen.

The Yemeni army and popular committees have in the past shot down reconnaissance drones as well as F-15 and F-16 jets as they flew over Yemeni and Saudi territories.

The attacks by the Yemeni forces against Saudi targets are carried out in retaliation for Riyadh’s military aggression that was launched in March 2015 against its impoverished neighbor.
