A car bomb attack claimed by the so-called "Daesh" ["ISIL"] extremist group on a mosque killed at least one person and wounded five others in Yemen’s capital city of Sana’a on Tuesday.

The car bomb exploded outside the al-Raoudh mosque as worshipers were leaving after prayers in southeast Sana’a, AFP quoted security officials as saying.

"Daesh", which has seized parts of land in Iraq, Syria and other countries, claimed responsibility for the attack several hours after it occurred.

"Daesh" has also claimed responsibility for a deadly bomb attack in Yemen’s capital on June 29 that took the lives of nearly 28 people.

Meanwhile, a Saudi-led coalition bombarded cities and towns in southern Yemen, as rebels said it killed 124 people on Monday in one of the deadliest days of its aerial aggression in the country.

The extremist attacks by "Daesh" come amid ongoing military strikes by Saudi Arabia against Yemen which have been carried out since March 26 - without a UN mandate- and whereby more than 2,000 civilians have been killed in the ongoing attacks.
