Yemeni army and the Popular Committees managed to storm al-Hijlah Saudi post in Dhahran Asir on Saturday, according to a video released by the Yemeni Military Media.

The video shows the Yemeni soldiers and committees fighters crossing the main road and heading to the military post. The soldiers and the fighters positioned close to the post’s control tower before storming it.

The scenes also show a shell directly hitting the control tower, whereby the soldiers and the fighters then stormed the military post.

Saudi Arabia has been carrying out deadly airstrikes in Yemen since March, while Yemeni forces have been responding to the attacks.

According to United Nations [UN] records, the Saudi attacks have killed more than 2,600 people and injured at least 11,000 since the US-led Saudi military aggression began against Yemen on March 26. The Saudi airstrikes since March 26 have not been authorized by the UN.

The military aggression began in an attempt to bring the fugitive former Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a close ally of Saudi Arabia, back to power, and to weaken the Houthi Ansarullah movement which is currently responding to the Saudi attacks on the country.
