The Deputy Chairman of Iran’s Red Crescent Society for International Affairs, Mohammad Shahabeddin Mohammadi Araqi, said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is to airlift medical supplies to the war-stricken nation of Yemen this week.

Speaking to IRNA, Araqi said the 140 tons consignment is composed of medical supplies and disposable items.

The consignment has been provided based on vital and emergency needs of the Yemeni people, he added.

Iran has already sent two consignments through air and sea to Yemen.

The Islamic Republic has expressed outrage at the indiscriminate Saudi bombardment of Yemen targeting civilian areas which killed and maimed several hundred people.

Furthermore, the country has called on the United Nations [UN] to stop the Saudi aggression on Yemen and urged the International Criminal Court to bring to justice the Saudi leaders and Air Force commander for the crimes against humanity they ordered to be perpetrated in Yemen.
