Saudi-backed Forces Driven from Strategic Al Nar Mountain

Yemen’s armed forces have reportedly liberated the strategic Al Nar Mountain, which lies east of the port of Mokha in the southwestern province of Taiz.

The Yemeni army backed by the Houthi Ansarullah movement killed scores of Saudi-backed fighters during the operation.

According to some reports around 100 Sudanese soldiers were killed on Al Nar.

Sudan is one of the members of the Saudi-led coalition and its soldiers have been fighting in Yemen. Last week the Sudanese army announced that it lost 5 soldiers, including two officers in the same region.

Tuesday’s gains by the Houthis and their allies mark yet another significant setback for the Saudis in their push to capture Yemen’s southwestern coastline.
