Iran’s deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, reiterated on Wednesday for the cessation of Saudi Arabia’s devastating aggression against Yemen, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Referring to Saudi Arabia’s ongoing attacks against the Yemeni people, Abdollahian urged an end to all foreign military attacks against Yemen.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, in the sultanate’s capital of Muscat.

For his part, the Omani official also described the humanitarian situation in Yemen as ’deplorable’ and demanded that the transfer of humanitarian assistance to the country be expedited.

A Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States has been carrying out deadly airstrikes in Yemen since March- without a UN mandate.

According to the UN’s latest figures on Monday, 3,083 people have been killed as a result of the current conflict in Yemen and an additional 14,324 people have been injured.
