Saudi-led Coalition Targets a Number of Districts Across Yemen’s Saada Province

Saudi warplanes launched a series of airstrikes targeting residential areas in Yemen’s northern Saada province.

According to a Yemeni security official, the Saudis carried out four raids in Saada’s Kutaf district, and three raids in the districts of Majaz, causing extensive collateral damage.

Heavy shelling of the province was also reported. Security officials confirmed that Saada’s Razah and Monabah districts were hit by the bombardment from across the border.

In the al-Dhaher district the Saudi-led coalition is reported to have used the internationally banned cluster munitions.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Saudi Arabia has come under international opprobrium for the sheer size of the casualties from the war it is leading since March 2015 to crush the Houthi Ansarullah movement and bring back the former Yemeni government to power.

The offensive has so far killed over 11,000 people amid countless reports suggesting deliberate and indiscriminate targeting of civilian infrastructure by Saudi jets and mercenaries.
