The Russian government condemned the extremist attack which took place in Yemen’s capital of Sana’a and which the so-called "Daesh" ["ISIL"] group claimed responsibility for, according to a statement on Tuesday.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed condemnation of the continuous heinous attacks by extremists in Yemen, voicing its condolences for the families of the victims of the terror incident.

Nearly 28 people were killed in a deadly bomb attack in Sana’a, on Monday. The extremist group, "Daesh" has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Furthermore, the statement affirmed that violence in Yemen has escalated against the backdrop of the continuous armed confrontations, foreign military intervention and the worsening humanitarian situation.

It re-called for a stop to the killing immediately and to resume the national dialogue under the patronage of the United Nations [UN] to achieve the vital tasks facing Yemen."

The extremist attacks by "Daesh" come amid ongoing military strikes by Saudi Arabia against Yemen which have been carried out since March 26 - without a UN mandate- and whereby more than 2,000 civilians have been killed in the ongoing attacks.
