The sniper units of the Yemeni army and popular forces shot dead two Saudi soldiers and two mercenaries in al-Shabaka site in Najran region, a military official told the country’s state-run news agency Saba on Friday.

Meanwhile, the artillery of the army and popular forces pounded sites, fortifications and positions of the Saudi army and mercenaries east of al-Mazab pont and east of al-Thawabita site in Jizan.

The artillery of the army also shelled a group of Saudi soldiers in Raqabat al-Fawaz in Najran, the official added.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 11,403 people have been killed and over 19,343 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
