The Yemeni army and popular forces bombed five military vehicles of the US-Saudi-paid mercenaries and captured their sites in Mokha district of Taiz province, a military official told the state-run news agency Saba on Wednesday.

The official said the military vehicles were bombed east of the district, and the crew members were killed. This as the Yemeni army took control of military sites in the north.

Separately, the artillery of the army and popular forces shelled gatherings of the mercenaries and their equipment in eastern Kahbub area of Lahj province, hitting the targets accurately.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 11,403 people have been killed and over 19,343 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
