Iran’s Deputy Chairman of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Kamal Dehghani Firouzabadi urged the Foreign Ministry to immediately decide the status of Iran's ambassadors to Syria and Yemen.

Pointing to Iran’s embassy in Syria which has been sans ambassador for 5 months, Dehghani Firouzabadi said Foreign Ministry has introduced newly appointed ambassador to the Presidency for assuming Iran’s embassy in Syria, however, President Rouhani has not confirmed the elected person yet.

He underlined the need for immediate appointment of new ambassadors, saying the importance of relations with Syria at this time requires that the Foreign Ministry and Presidency accelerate the process.

"The same should be done regarding Yemen; Iran had left the position vacant in Yemen for one year and half," Firouzabadi said, urging the immediate action by Foreign Ministry.
