The Yemaniat Foundation for Women and Children on Thursday denounced the heinous massacre committed by the Saudi aggression against women and children in the funeral house in Arhab district of Sana'a province.

In a statement obtained by the official news website Saba, the non-governmental organization said Wednesday’s massacre is one of a series of war crimes against humanity according to the international humanitarian laws and the Geneva Conventions.

The statement called for listing the new crime to previous Saudi war crimes that targeted funerals, weddings and markets.

The statement also called for the formation of monitoring groups to monitor these crimes in order to be submitted to the international Criminal Court and the public opinion in order to bring Saudi Arabia to justice.

On Wednesday, at least eight people were killed and dozens wounded in a Saudi-led coalition 'double-tap' airstrike on a funeral in Sana'a.

The first airstrike hit a group of women attending a funeral in the Arhab neighbourhood and the second strike hit a group of emergency responders minutes later.

Saudi Arabia has been leading an offensive against Yemen since March 2015 in a bid to crush the Houthi Ansarullah. The war has left at least 11,403 civilians dead, according to a latest tally by a Yemeni monitoring group.

The US has also been providing logistic and surveillance support to the kingdom in the bloody military campaign.
