HR Ministry Condemns Saudi Massacre in Arhab

Yemen’s Ministry of Human Rights on Thursday denounced the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes that targeted a funeral house in Arhab district, killing at least eight women and children.

In a press statement to the official news agency Saba, the ministry called on the United Nations and the international community to quickly act to protect the Yemeni civilians from the Saudi war machine, urging to prosecute Riyadh in the International Criminal Court.

Yemen has been under military attacks by Saudi Arabia since late March last year. The Saudi military strikes were launched in a failed effort to undermine the popular Houthi Ansarullah movement and bring the former fugitive president back to power.

More than 11,403 people, among them 2,236 children, have been killed and 19,343 others injured since the start of the aggression. The strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
