Yemen’s Defense Minister Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi said that the salaries of the forces of the Yemeni army for September 2016 will be paid next week, in a statement received by the state-run news agency Saba on Saturday.

The minister said his ministry is paying more attention to the army and vowed to improve all situations of the military institutions and troops, particularly during this critical period where the nation is facing the most barbaric Saudi aggression war.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 11,403 people have been killed and over 19,343 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
