Saudi Regime Refuses to Support Resistance to Appease Tel Aviv: Naim Qassem

Lebanon’s Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah’s second-in-command, Sheikh Naim Qassem, slammed the Saudi regime’s stance against the resistance movement, saying Riyadh is trying to appease Tel Aviv by refusing to support the resistance front.

“In a bid to please the Zionist regime (of Israel), Saudis have openly announced that they will never back the Palestinian movement against the occupying regime,” Sheikh Qassem told the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Qassem added that the Saudi regime is involved in military intervention in various regional countries like Syria and Yemen, adding that it has shed the blood of the defenseless people of Yemen.

The deputy secretary general adds that Saudi rulers have dreams of dominating the Middle East region and the invasion of Yemen is to reach the same goal.

The remarks came as Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition led by the Saudi regime for nearly two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Nearly 10,000 Yemenis, including 4,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
