Yemeni FM Meets UN Special Envoy to Yemen

Yemen’s Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf met on Monday the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh.

The meeting dealt with ways to strengthen efforts to achieve peace as well as pushing negotiations that serve the Yemeni people and reach a peaceful political settlement satisfactory to all parties.

Saharaf confirmed that the Republic of Yemen represented by the Supreme Political Council, the government and the Yemeni people supports the national negotiating delegation and seeks for peace that will stop the bloodshed stop, put an end to the Saudi aggression, and lift the siege imposed on the Yemeni people.

The meeting also stressed on the necessity of reopening of the Sana'a International Airport and bring life and security to Yemen socially and economically.

For his part, Ould Cheikh briefed the foreign minister on his talks with the national negotiating delegation, hoping these efforts continue and be supported by all to facilitate his tasks.
