Yemen’s Health Minister Meets MSF Head

Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Mohammed Salem Bin Hafeez met with the visiting International President of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Dr. Joanne Liu as well as the managers of the Dutch, Spanish, French and Swiss MSF organizations.

The meeting took place on Monday, during which Bin Hafeez the government’s readiness to continue facilitating the activities of all humanitarian organizations working in Yemen.

The Yemeni official also stressed on the increasing need for coordination and communication between the ministry and international groups to achieve common goals for providing health services to the Yemeni people.

The MSF has provided health services to about 13 health facilities and 10 hospitals across eight Yemeni provinces over the past period.

The organization has also treated about 50,000 wounded by the ongoing war on Yemen.

The International President MSF, Dr. Joanne Liu, confirmed the group’s readiness to expand support to the health sector in the war-torn country.
