The Supreme Political Council strongly deplored some negative reactions towards the formation of the National Salvation Government. The SPC stated that the formation of the new government came in response to the will of the Yemeni people to confront the Saudi aggression.
According to a statement received by the state-run news agency Saba late on Wednesday, the formation of the government is aimed to protect the state institutions from collapse, as well as preserve the security and stability of citizens and public tranquility of society and provide the needs and essential materials to keep the continuation of life of the people.
The Political Council expressed extreme surprise at the stances of the Arab League’s secretary-general as well as the United Nations special envoy to Yemen, saying their positions should be neutral and non-aligned to any party.
