Yemeni soldiers backed by fighters from the Houthi Ansarullah movement have taken control of two Saudi military bases in the kingdom’s southern border region of Asir, according to military sources in Sana’a.

Meanwhile, Yemeni artillery targeted and destroyed a Saudi mercenary rallying point in the southern Najran province, killing a number of fighters.

Earlier in the day, Yemeni forces launched missiles at a Saudi base in Najran, reportedly destroying it and inflicting heavy casualties.

On Saturday, Saudi military aircraft carried out a fresh round of strikes across Yemen targeting the Razeh district in the northwestern province of Saada as well as the Nihm and Hamdan districts in the western province of Sana’a.

Yemeni fighters launch their attacks in retaliation to Saudi Arabia’s relentless airstrikes against their country, which have been going on since March 2015.
