The Saudi Royal Air Force went on a rampage Sunday night in the northern Yemeni countryside, targeting several provinces that have a significant Houthi presence.

According to local activists, the Saudi fighter jets carried out over 65 airstrikes in northern Yemen, killing a large number of civilians and destroying several residential buildings.

The Saudi airstrikes were primarily conducted in Hajja, Sa’ada, Sana’a, and Umran provinces of northern Yemen.

These airstrikes were meant to punish the Yemeni civilians for not backing the corrupt regime of Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
