The Yemeni army and popular committees have achieved great victories against the Saudi aggression and their mercenaries over the past hours.

A military official said on Friday that the army and popular committees have captured a Saudi military site of Jabal Dukhan in Jizan region after intense battles that resulted in the deaths of dozens of Saudi soldiers and heavy losses in Saudi military equipment.

The commander of a Saudi rapid intervention force in Jabal Dukhan site was killed in the fighting, the official said.

Two Saudi soldiers stationed near al-Hamra hilltop were shot dead by Yemeni snipers.

The allied forces also fired artillery and missiles against other Saudi military sites of al-Mu’annak, Khuba, Musafak, Kubra and al-Shabaka areas.

The shelling also targeted gatherings of Saudi troops in Abu al-Madh in Jizan region as well as in al-Shaibani Kilal military site in Asir region that resulted in bombing at least one of Saudi military armored vehicles.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
