The Saudi fighter jets launched on Sunday several air strikes on Taiz province, a local official said.

The official added the fighter jets targeted a school in al-Akbosh-al-Ahkom area in Haifan district with six raids.

The warplanes targeted another school in La’akawesh village, he said.

Two raids also hit Uman Mount in al-Hawban area, while another two struc the northern and western neighborhoods of Taiz city.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
