Iran’s Supreme Leader Slams UN for Ignoring Saudi Crimes Against Yemen

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei slammed the United Nations for turning a blind eye to Saudi Arabia’s crimes and child killings in Yemen.

In a meeting on Wednesday with Iran’s judiciary chief and officials, the Leader said the official announcement of the "United Nations’ turning a blind eye to the ongoing crimes and child killings in Yemen in exchange for receiving money from some countries" was a cause of disgrace for humanity, adding, "this scandal goes against genuine human rights and we have to do legal and juridical work on this at international levels," according to the Leader’s official website.

Yemen has been under military attacks by Saudi Arabia since late March last year. The Saudi military strikes were launched in a failed effort to undermine the popular Houthi Ansarullah movement and bring the former fugitive president back to power.

More than 10,000 people, among them 2,236 children, have been killed and 16,015 others injured since the start of the aggression. The strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
