Informed sources disclosed the US plots to widen the rift among the Yemeni groups to intensify the ongoing war in that country on the pretext of fighting the Al-Qaeda terrorist group.

"The US has forced Saudi Arabia to pave the way for the wider presence of the US troops in Southern Yemen under the cover of fighting Takfiri terrorists," Yemeni sources told FNA on Saturday.

The source said Saudi Arabia intends to wage a civil war in Yemen in order to compensate for its defeat, and "for the same reason the Riyadh government has helped its mercenaries against Ansarullah fighters in Ma’rib, Ta’iz, Al-Jawf and Lahij provinces with its aerial and logistic support".

On Tuesday, fighters of the Ansarullah movement in Yemen gained ground against Saudi mercenaries in the country’s Southwestern Lahij Province.

The fighters wrested control of the Jales Mountain near the al-Anad military base, which is under the control of Saudi mercenaries, and moved towards.

Ansarullah also fired rockets at pockets of the mercenaries in the Tadaween base West of the Ma’rib Province.

Ansarullah has been defending Yemen, the Arab world’s most impoverished country, against a deadly Saudi invasion, which the kingdom launched in March 2015 to restore power to former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

More than 9,600 people have been killed and at least 16,000 others injured since the onset of the aggression.
