Yemeni military sources said on Thursday that nearly three-dozen pro-Saudi militants had been killed in a series of violent clashes with the Houthi Ansarullah revolutionaries and allied army units near Sana’a over the past three days.

A senior officer in the Hadi regime was among the dead while six troops were wounded in Nihm district.

Saudi Arabia has been waging a war on Yemen since late March 2015 in a bid to reinstate former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. Nearly 9,400 Yemenis, including 4,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the campaign.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
