Saudi Bombing Kills Five People in Taiz

Five people from one family were killed on Saturday by a Saudi bombing on the western side of Taiz province.

Saudi warplanes launched an airstrike on a house in al-Thabab area killing the five people from a family, including three women and child, a local official said, adding that many nearby houses were damaged.

The Saudi aggression also launched two raids on the north-western neighborhoods of Taiz city, particularly on al-Seteen Street, and resulted in serious damage to dozens of houses and cars.

The official said the raids attempted to support the mercenaries who have received during the past few days large quantities of medium and light weapons, ammunition and communication systems, airdropped by the Saudi aggression in many neighborhoods of Taiz and districts of al-Shammayatain and al-Mawasit.

Yemen has been under military attacks by Saudi Arabia since late March last year. The Saudi military strikes were launched in a failed effort to undermine the popular Houthi Ansarullah movement and bring the former fugitive president back to power.

More than 9,400 people, among them 2,236 children, have been killed and 16,015 others injured since the start of the aggression. The strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
