The Saudi-led coalition intensified on Friday its air raids on Nehm district of Sana’a province, targeting different areas in the district.

The coalition war jets launched four raids on the areas of Bani Sharifa, Maswara and Bait al-Dahila, causing large damage to houses of citizens and farms, a security official said.

The warplanes also targeted al-Ashraf area in Maswara with five raids and Kherbat Fatrah area with a sixth, destroying houses and agricultural lands.

Two of airstrikes destroyed a house and a shop in Maswara and a restaurant in Maswara souk.

Furthermore, the fighter jets also targeted Mahalli area and Al-Batana bridge.

Yemen has been under airstrikes by Saudi Arabia since March 26 last year. The Saudi strikes have been meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and bring Hadi back to power.

Nearly 8,280 people, among them 2,236 children, have reportedly been killed and over 16,000 others injured. The strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
