Eight Yemenis Killed in Saudi Airstrikes, Army Retaliates

At least eight Yemeni civilians were killed when Saudi warplanes launched a string of airstrikes against various areas across the country
.


Media sources reported that Saudi jets attacked a popular market in the port city of Mocha on Wednesday evening, killing four people and injuring eleven others.


In response, Yemeni army troops retaliated by firing an OTR-21 Tochka missile at the strategic al-Anad Air Base housing Saudi-led forces in Yemen’s Lahij province.


Yemen’s army spokesman Brigadier General Sharaf Luqman said the missile was launched following a tip-off that pro-Saudi troops inside the base were planning an attack on Ta’az.

In addition, Yemeni forces also launched a number of OTR-21 Tochka missiles at Saudi military positions in Yemen’s Jawf province.

Relatively, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi lashed out Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, saying the kingdom’s policies are the same as those of the US and "Israel", "which seek to crush the Muslim Ummah without paying any price."

"Saudis, the Emiratis and others are the pawns that are serving the interests of the US and "Israel"," Sayyed al-Houthi added.

Yemen has been under military attacks by Saudi Arabia since late March. More than 7,500 people have lost their lives and over 14,000 others injured since then.

Moreover, the strikes have taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
