The Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins sans frontiers [MSF] organization criticized on Saturday the continuation of the Saudi-led airstrikes against Yemen, particularly in the northern areas which had reached more than ten air raids in a day.

The MSF Programme coordinator, Miriam Czech, said in describing the situation in Yemen that the citizens in the northern areas in Yemen have fled to mountains and caves, running from the indiscriminate shelling which destroyed many houses and damaged the infrastructure there.

In a report issued in the Doctors Without Borders’ website, Czech pointed out that the northern regions in Yemen, especially Haydan and the surrounding areas were pounded night and day and the air raids continued - ten to fifteen almost every day.

The hospital supported by MSF was totally destroyed, which was the only hospital in the region, said Czech. She added that the whole region is being targeted, including villages and roads.

On March 26, a Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States began to carry out a military aggression on Yemen by launching airstrikes against the country.

The airstrikes have not been authorized by the United Nations [UN].
