A second deployment of UAE soldiers arrived in Yemen as part of the Saudi-led coalition, which is raging an aggression against the impoverished country, as the first batch is expected to arrive home in the coming days.

The General Command of the UAE’s Armed Forces said that the changeover had been successfully accomplished, state news agency Wam reported on Thursday.

He added that the UAE will hold an official reception for the returning soldiers.

The Emirates joined the Saudi-led coalition in March. However, several of them have frequently been killed.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies, including the UAE, began to carry out a military aggression on Yemen by launching deadly airstrikes against the country in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Saudi Arabia.

The airstrikes have not been authorized by the United Nations [UN].

According to the Yemeni health ministry, the death toll from the Saudi-led aggression against Yemen so far is more than 6,000, adding that 1,277 of those killed were children.
