Nearly two dozen civilians lose their lives in fresh airstrikes by Saudi fighter jets against an area in Yemen’s northern province of al-Jawf.

The Arabic-language al-Masirah television network, citing local sources, reported that the warplanes targeted three vehicles as they were traveling along a road in Sha’ab al-Haradh area in Khabb wa ash Sha'af district on Thursday evening, leaving more than 20 people dead.

The sources added that most of the victims were women and children.

Elsewhere in the mountainous northwestern province of Sa’ada, Saudi jets bombarded a residential area in Kitaf wa al-Boqe'e district. There were, however, no immediate reports about possible casualties or the extent of damage caused.

Earlier in the day, Saudi-backed militants and mercenaries launched three Katyusha rockets at several areas across the strategic western coastal city of Hudaydah, though no reports of casualties and damage were quickly available.

Saudi forces also lobbed several artillery rounds at Dahfash village, which lies on the outskirts of the besieged al-Durayhimi city, but there were no immediate report on casualties or the damage caused.
